Our Hardscaping Process

Our Process for Hardscaping Projects

Our goal at Rowland Outdoor Design is to make the hardscaping process as seamless as possible for our clients.

We assess your property

We walk your site to evaluate grading, drainage, and the structural realities of the space, the details that determine whether a patio or wall actually holds up.

We design the hardscape

We put together a plan covering layout, materials, and structural details like base depth and drainage, so you know exactly what's being built before we break ground.

We build it right

We oversee every step of construction ourselves, from excavation and base work to the final paver or stone. That means the finished space matches the plan and holds up for years, not just seasons.

We walk the finished space with you

Once the work is complete, we walk the space with you to make sure it's built the way you pictured it, from the grading underneath to the finish on top.

Local Expertise

North Atlanta's red clay, heavy summer rain, and freeze-thaw winters break down bad installations fast. We build around those realities

FAQs

What does a hardscaping project  cost?

Each project is quoted based on scope. We give clear, upfront pricing after talking with you and walking your property.

How long will it take?

A simple sod job might take a few days. A full design with hardscaping and planting can run a few weeks. We set a timeline early and we stick to it.

Do I need a permit?

It depends on the type of project and local regulations. Most basic landscaping doesn’t require a permit, but features like retaining walls, drainage, fences, or outdoor structures may. We’ll help determine what’s needed and guide you through the process.

Do hardscapes require maintenance?

Not in the way plants do, but sealing, joint sand, and occasional repairs help keep things looking sharp for years. We're happy to handle that upkeep if you want it.

What areas do you serve?

We work across the greater North Atlanta area and suburbs, including Milton, Roswell, Alpharetta, Canton, Ball Ground, Cumming, Woodstock, Johns Creek, Marietta, & Dunwoody.

Are you insured?

Yes, we are fully insured. Your property and our crew are protected from the  moment we step on the property to the final cleanup.

Do you offer financing?

Yes! We offer financing options to help make your hardscape project more affordable. We’ll walk you through the available plans and help you find a payment option that fits your budget.

Still have questions?

Reach out. We’d love to talk to you and see if your project would be a good fit.
